OUR SERVICE, OUR EXPERTISE

HELPING ORCHESTRATE YOUR DREAM PROJECT

Many yacht owners purchase built vessels or series-production craft. However, some clients have bespoke requirements. In response, our work may take one of five different approaches: “Clean sheet of paper” designs; ones based on an existing proven technical platform; refits of existing vessels; conversion of a commercial ship into a yacht via appropriate adjustments.

In every case, the client’s instructions, or Brief, are the guiding force. Toward that Brief, we aim to shape creative, practical solutions for competing onboard spatial and functional interests. In short, we help to orchestrate the project’s architectural and aesthetic focus, while respecting foundational shipbuilding practice, seagoing tradition, international class / code, plus the practicalities of safety-in-mind.

The first phase is Preliminary Design – a feasibility study. With this, the client can understand how the Brief is being interpreted and fulfilled. A critique may adjust this work, and subsequent phases, as the LP work product progresses toward increasing detail. Technical partnership with the yacht builder engineering partners at all stages ensure that the client’s wishes are fulfilled. Design fees are structured on a phase-by-phase basis, as the collaborative effort of the team moves forward.
